Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was our first Christmas in our new home. My mom came to celebrate with us, since I am not supposed to travel (7 weeks until my due date!).

The day started with the opening of presents. Even though the baby is not here yet, he was still spoiled by Santa (a sign of things to come, maybe?).

Santa even brought Paris a present. She was so excited to see it come out of the gift bag, and then the rest of the time we were opening presents she investigated all the gift bags to see if any more were for her. It was really cute!

Michael LOVED his new golf bag!

After we opened presents, Michael cooked us a wonderful Christmas meal (I only helped a little). We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, asparagus, salad, and cornbread. It was delicious!

(Our wee ones were waiting in the wings for something to fall from the table!)

I love this new bed!

Missy is very grateful for all of the new soft bedding that has been showing up in the house the last few weeks.

She just doesn't realize that she is going to have to share it all in a few weeks ...

But for now, how can you deny that face?!?

Quote

When people ask me what it's like being a parent, I tell them that every day is an epic, there are no days off, it takes everything you've got, and it's the most enjoyable thing I've ever done.

- Dr Robert Holden

Every day I feel so excited that we will soon welcome another person into our family, and scared by how much hard work lies ahead. The essence is captured so well by that quote.

29 week ultrasound

We had an ultrasound on 12/3 to check on the baby's development. He is growing just fine, although we think he is going to be on the small side (probably in the 6-7 lb range). His weight is around the 20th percentile now. The doctor says this is fine, and it is actually good for me that I will not have to deliver a large baby.

Here are some pictures. I always think these are like ink blot tests: see if you can find the baby in the shades of gray :-)
